Why You Should Keep a Stress Management Journal

You have probably heard of many methods of stress relief in the past, such as exercise and stress management and proper nutrition and stress management, but have you ever thought about starting your own stress management journal? If not, this is definitely a move that you are going to want to consider, especially if you are now going through a particularly stressful time in your life.

About Stress and It's Consequences

A little bit of stress is normal and expected, but once it has begun to cause you problems in your life or you feel as though you are overwhelmed, chances are that you are past the normal line and are now getting stressed out. This can be more than just frustrating and upsetting, it can actually be dangerous.

Stress Management Journal

There are many benefits that you will reap if you keep a stress management journal. For one, by writing in a stress management journal you will be giving yourself a way to vent when you are going through stressful times in your life. Maybe you are worried about getting a promotion at work or you are having personal problems, you can write it all down in your journal.

Although of course you can choose to show others what you have written, you can certainly choose to keep your journal to yourself, as most people do.

If you talk to a therapist or counselor, they would definitely advise you to start a stress management journal, and will help to get you started if you are unsure of how to get yourself going.

Of course this is not the only option when it comes to stress management, and if you find that you are under a great deal of stress there are other tips and ideas that will help you out here as well. Breathing exercises for instance tend to work very well, especially if you have anxiety and find that you have trouble breathing when you are stressed out.

Talking to loved ones is another route you may choose to take. It is nice to write in a journal but when you are speaking to a family member or friend you will be able to get an opinion back, which is often just what you need. It is also someone there to comfort you and support you, a shoulder to cry on, and is a great idea during those troublesome times in your life.
