Willpower and Self Control

Self-control is a time demanding process of cultivating the inner strengths, including one's willpower. Willpower eventually is the ultimate strength of mind that gives you the power to take control of your life. We must shun behaviors that cause us to fail, which includes self-indulgent behaviors and habits. Developing one's willpower will lead him through the process of cultivating self-control successfully. Willpower is restraining self from doing what is wrong. Thus, the conscious must be reformed, retrained, et cetera to gain access to extreme willpower that allows one to take full control. At what time temptations confront you; your willpower will provide you with the determination necessary to take control of your life.

Willpower is one's drive. This drive pushes you to take control, because it is the element and major asset of the human being that gives them strength of mind and strength of will. In short, willpower is self-discipline that provides us the strength to resolve problems effectively.

We live in a world full of alluring attractions that seem tempting, causing us to run toward riches and fame, sex, drugs and so on. Advertisement alone has created a platform of enthralling captions that misled and misdirect people from doing what is right. We must face these problems by heeding warning and avoiding them.

By avoiding temptations that lead to harm we can cultivate self-discipline or self-control. One of the recommended methods we can use to cultivate self-control includes the classical conditioning strategy.

The classical conditioning methods help us to see that our intestines and the way they contract are conditioned. We see that eye blinks, withdrawal of fingers, heart rate, papillary dilation, blood pressure and other aspects of our human functions are altered. One of the chief significant others to the classical conditioning are the semantic conditioning. In this instance, responses to "verbal stimulus" cause emotional responses significantly different from natural response.

What needs to take place then is reconditioning of the classical learning and the semantic learning. Since we are conditioned by our environment and external influences, one must move to redirect his expressions, words and sentences to create factual statements that make this person who they are.

But where does it start. It starts with the memory. Recent studies showed through biofeedback testing that when a person is capable of regulating his own physiological functions and thoughts, he is capable of taking power of his life. Still, memory is the chief element that one must advance to have this complete control of self.

Therefore, in a classical and semantic environment, one must move to redirect his thinking patterns by developing self-awareness and consciousness. Moreover, one must move to redirect his perceptions and conceptions.

When using classical and semantic conditioning tactics to reform the mind, one must understand that the basic element of personality alteration is influences.

Scientists conducted tests that lead them to believe that verbal influencing is the leading cause of our conditioning state. This includes our physiology and mental states. In short, we adapt to what is common in society. This is the conditioning that we must focus on and work to reform our sentences, expressions and words, thus reforming them to express facts rather than perceptions on a broad scale. In short, people, places and things affect us all, yet words are the most powerful influences that determine our mindset. Thus, focus on reconditioning self to take control of your life. Conditioned people rarely find their true journey in life, so it makes it difficult to develop a whole being, let alone self-control. It takes you to train self.
